”I have been a great follower of Wake Up Shake Up and got it up and running in the school many years ago and it’s still going. The children in year 6 started and then children further down the school took ownership and have introduced many of their own tracks, and even took it upon themselves to deliver Wake Up Shake Up 2! My job was made easy.”

”I just wanted to say that since coming to a course you did in Solihull, we introduced Wake Up Shake Up, with ‘When the Going Gets Tough’, through a healthy schools week, which the children loved. We are now using it as intended, outside school in the mornings and have progressed to the YMCA! All the children are really enjoying it and we have had some great feedback. I also convinced the PTA to buy us a boogie box and the whole thing has been a great success so far! The biggest fans are the year 6 boys, which I was definitely not expecting!”

”My class of 10 KS2 Autistic pupils took to it immediately and on the first go my colleague who teaches PE said they had all been more active in 10 mins than they had EVER been in any PE lesson.
Several of the children were begging me for several days to do more and some of them were the ones who normally complain when having to do anything active!
Class 1 (8 KS1 autisitic pupils) have caught the bug too and are giving it a go most days and loving it as well.
We are also waiting for some good weather to take a group of my children and music out onto the main school playground so that my children from the Special Support Centre can teach their main stream friends Wake Up! Shake Up! This will be fantastic for their self esteem and for helping them to integrate with more of the mainstream pupils.
And my biggest success happened today – after 11 days – all 5 of my staff joined in! Rather than watching with a cup of coffee in their hands. I am sure the benefits to the children’s general health and academic achievement will become apparent as they continue with the programme.
I want to say a big thank you to you for developing this and hope that many more schools and organisations can take up the challenge.”

“We have run Wake-up and Shake-up for three years now in the Charters School Sports Partnership. Firstly, with your wonderful DVD resources (we have 1 and 2, and are desperate to start with number 3). SSCOs have done assemblies and sessions throughout the 30 primary schools in the Ascot and Maidenhead area. Our schools have absolutely loved WUSU and teachers have continued, with support from their SSCOs, to deliver WUSU in their schools every week in many different ways.
“…we have run our own SSP WUSU Festival, in which primary schools across our partnership enter a team from Year 1 or 2 to perform their own WUSU routines…this year we enjoyed all of the 11 schools’ routines to various funky pieces of music… we had approximately 330 KS1 pupils attend with their teachers in two sessions…I was amazed at how energetic and slick everyone’s performances were. The pupils had an amazing experience …”Watching the dances made me want to get up and dance to everything!”, “Can we do it again next year?”, “It was the best day of my life!”.
We are now looking to get WUSU 3 into all of our schools and will look to start a scheme called WUSU Leaders whereby the pupils lead the groups…, creating their own routines and having fun being physically active. … I’d like to thank you for the wonderful resource and wanted to share with you our success and enjoyment across the Charters School Sport Partnership.”

“Our Public Health Physical Education Specialist in Birmingham introduced Wake Up Shake Up in to our school about 2 years ago. At the start of this year I decided to challenge myself to join in Wake Up Shake Up with my Year 3 children. Every time our PHPES came to our school to teach the children a new routine I enjoyed learning it that same day and delivering it to the children the next morning which really helped to motivate them while it was fresh in their minds. This then lead to me going to different year groups, when requested to refresh the teachers and children on the new routine.
Wake Up Shake Up has become so popular with children and staff at Lakey Lane Primary School. Our P.E. co-ordinator asked me about setting up a WUSU club during assembly time and I jumped at the chance to give it a go… . We try to target children who do very little exercise in the hope that it will encourage them to feel better about themselves… . I was hoping the children would enjoy our Wake Up Shake Up club… but I wasn’t expecting to see such a fast change in their attitude to exercise… .
Many thanks for such an excellent WUSU DVD… “
